Homeless Services United is a coalition of non-profit agencies serving homeless and at-risk adults and families in New York City. HSU provides advocacy, information, and training to member agencies to expand their capacity to deliver high-quality services.

Representing the majority of non-profit shelter capacity in NYC, in addition to eviction prevention, homeless outreach, and drop-in programs, HSU since it’s inception has been a leader in sound and compassionate homeless policy development.

Members of HSU are able to inform targeted advocacy on behalf of their organizations and the people they serve. Advocacy includes contract, budget and payment improvements, policy work focused on families and youth, federal Continuum of Care practice and policies, Coordinated Assessment and Placement, benefits access and affordable housing development. Members also receive trainings, shared learning opportunities and access to bi-weekly media and hiring notices.
