On behalf of the Board of Homeless Services United I am delighted to share with you the news that Catherine Trapani has been named Executive Director of HSU. Catherine will assume her new position June 20th, 2016.
Since 2007 Ms. Trapani served as Director of the HousingLink Program at New Destiny Housing where she was engaged in developing programs, offering training and technical assistance, and helping to lead the agency’s research and public advocacy efforts. She has a deep knowledge of systems designed to address homelessness and poverty, a record of successful advocacy, and a proven track record of developing successful training programs.
Catherine’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in crisis is evident—as she assumes this position, we can be assured that HSU’s strong and urgent voice on behalf our homeless and at-risk clients will continue to be heard. Her understanding of vulnerable families, public systems, strong organizational and advocacy skills are exactly the leadership qualities that HSU requires during this period of change in the homeless system.
