Dana Broussard has been an exemplary Case Manager at Siena House Shelter since 2003. She is kind, client oriented, thorough, and detailed focused. “Dana’s compassion, encouragement, unconditional support, and honesty is exhibited with all the women and babies she serves,” explained Sister Lauria Fitzgerald, a Siena House Housing Specialist for 30 years. “She has accompanied all of the women on their particular journey over the two decades with grace and wisdom, providing a guiding hand that is most times welcome but sometimes unwelcomed.” Alma Hernandez is another Housing Specialist who also has worked three decades at Siena House said, “Dana always puts her clients first. She is a great blessing to all of the clients, their babies, and our entire staff.”
“When I first entered Siena House, I was scared for my baby and me. Dana was very supportive and helped me feel like I was part of a family at Siena House from the first day I met her. And when my son was born prematurely at two pounds, Dana called the hospital several times to make sure I was ok (The baby is thriving and now weighs over 12 pounds)”, shared Client CP. “Dana gave me a lot of support and advice during a very difficult time in my life.”
Another client who speaks glowingly about Ms. Broussard is KA. “Dana has been phenomenal! She stays on top of me to make sure I complete the documents in a timely fashion. When I am going through my mental health issues, she gets me back on the right track,” said KA. “She always shows she cares for me and my baby. She is awesome!”. Retired Case Manager Graciella Mendoza worked side-by-side with Ms. Broussard for 19 years. “Dana is a gem. She was an excellent co-worker. We always tried to set the best example for the residents and give them the best tools for success.”
Sister Mary Doris, Founder and Director of Siena House from 1990 to 2024, added, “Dana exemplifies the caring and conscientious work ethic of all of our employees at Siena House. Our motto is Helping Women Help Themselves. Dana has been a shining light for over 1,000 women at a difficult time in their lives”. Dana goes #AboveAndBeyond for her clients.
